Danone, the parent company of International Delight coffee creamer, has issued a recall of more than 75,000 bottles following complaints of spoilage and reported illnesses. The recall, initially voluntary and announced on February 21, was escalated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to a Class II recall on Wednesday, indicating a moderate health risk.

A Class II recall signifies that the affected product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health effects. While the issue is not considered life-threatening, the recall underscores the importance of addressing potential risks promptly.

Affected Products and Details

The recall applies exclusively to two flavors of International Delight coffee creamer:

 - 32-ounce bottles of Hazelnut creamer (expiration date: July 2, 2025)

 - 32-ounce bottles of Cinnabon Classic Cinnamon Roll (expiration date: July 3, 2025)

Both products bear the producing plant code **51-4114 R-S** and were distributed across 31 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Danone North America representative explained “A limited number of these products did not meet our quality standards due to premature spoilage, which manifested as a texture issue. While testing data confirms this is not a food safety concern, we voluntarily recalled these isolated products out of an abundance of caution as we address the quality issue. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause our loyal customers.”

This recall is part of a larger trend in 2025, with several food and beverage products being pulled from shelves due to safety and quality concerns. Notably, Oak Cliff Beverage Works recently updated its recall of Beverage Base Lemonade, sold in three- and five-gallon containers, after discovering an undeclared synthetic food dye, Yellow 5, in the product.

The FDA classified the lemonade recall as Class II on February 25, citing potential temporary or medically reversible health risks. A total of 8,847 units were affected, distributed across eight states: Arkansas, California, Colorado, Kentucky, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Consumers who have purchased the recalled International Delight coffee creamers or Oak Cliff Beverage Works lemonade are advised to discontinue use immediately and return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund. For additional information, customers can contact the respective companies directly or visit the FDA’s recall website for updates.
