In a major leadership transition for two of Sweden’s most prominent food industry players, Anders Fredriksson is set to step down as CEO of the historic coffee roaster Löfbergs to take the helm at the fast-growing conglomerate Humble Group.
Fredriksson, who has led the family-owned company from its headquarters in Karlstad for the past five years, will assume his new role in September. He will oversee Humble Group, a listed entity that has rapidly expanded to encompass approximately 40 businesses within the food, nutrition, and personal care sectors. The group currently boasts a turnover exceeding $800 million and employs 1,200 people.

The announcement marks a bittersweet milestone for Löfbergs, which was founded in 1906 and remains one of Sweden’s most recognized coffee brands. Kathrine Löfberg, Chair of the Board, praised the outgoing CEO for his transformative impact on the company.
"Anders has done a fantastic job and, together with his team, laid a solid foundation for our continued growth," Löfberg stated. She confirmed that the board is taking a measured approach to the transition. "I am glad that he will continue to lead the company until September, which gives us plenty of time to find a suitable successor."
For Fredriksson, the decision to leave the roastery was a difficult one. Reflecting on his tenure, he expressed pride in the company's trajectory under his leadership. The period has seen Löfbergs solidify its reputation not just for its coffee blends, but for its aggressive push into international markets. Today, half of the company’s sales occur outside Sweden, supported by market companies across Scandinavia, the Baltics, and the United Kingdom, alongside a new strategic investment in Poland.
"This was not an easy decision," Fredriksson admitted. "I have really enjoyed my time at Löfbergs and am proud of what we have achieved together in recent years." While he prepares to tackle the diverse portfolio of Humble Group, he assured that his connection to the roastery remains strong. "I will, of course, continue to follow Löfbergs' ongoing journey with great interest."
As the company searches for a new leader to navigate its next chapter of growth, the board is expected to look for a candidate who can uphold Löfbergs' century-old legacy of quality and sustainability while continuing its expansion across Europe.
