The Swedish coffee roaster Löfbergs has been distinguished as one of the top three Commercial Coffee Roasters in Europe at a prestigious gala in Berlin. The honor was bestowed at The European Coffee & Hospitality Awards, where the family-owned company shared the podium with Italian coffee giants Illy and the overall category winner, Lavazza. This accolade specifically celebrates enterprises that are actively driving the coffee industry forward through a steadfast commitment to superior quality, continuous innovation, and profound responsibility.

Anders Fredriksson, Chief Executive Officer of Löfbergs, expressed immense pride in the achievement, stating that it is a direct reflection of the company’s long-term dedication. He emphasised that the award validates their unwavering focus on great-tasting coffee, deep-rooted sustainability efforts, and their role in pushing the entire coffee industry toward a better future. Fredriksson extended his gratitude to the employees whose passion fuels the company, the customers who place their trust in the brand, and the extensive network of suppliers and farming communities across the globe who form the foundation of their operations.

Kathrine Löfberg, fourth-generation coffee roaster, and Anders Fredriksson, CEO of Löfbergs, are honoured to be recognised with this award.

This notable accolade is expected to substantially strengthen Löfbergs' standing as a leading force in the European coffee scene. It also serves to underscore and reinforce the company's declared ambition to continue being a pivotal actor in shaping a coffee industry that is both more sustainable and unwaveringly focused on quality. The timing of the award is particularly symbolic for the Swedish roaster, as it arrives on the eve of a major corporate milestone. "Next year, Löfbergs celebrates 120 years of great-tasting coffee," Fredriksson added, noting that receiving such an international honor at this juncture is both inspiring and energizing for the journey that lies ahead.

Löfbergs' story began in 1906, and remarkably, the business remains in the hands of the founding family. Over the decades, it has grown to become one of the largest coffee roasters in the Nordic region and has established itself as a recognized pioneer in sustainability within the global coffee community. The company first ventured into international exports in 1993, a strategic move that has paid substantial dividends. Today, the global palate for Löfbergs coffee is evident, with approximately half of its total sales now generated from markets outside its home country of Sweden. This pan-European recognition in Berlin therefore not only celebrates its past legacy but also solidifies its present and future role as a key player on the international coffee stage.
