As World Cup fever heats up this summer, Café Bustelo is giving fans a bold new way to wear their pride: right on their faces. The iconic coffee brand known for its rich Latin flavor has launched "Game Face," a limited-edition campaign featuring over one million collectible coffee cans and matching temporary face-tattoo kits celebrating four countries tied to the brand's heritage: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico.
Starting June 1, fans across the country can find the special-edition cans at leading grocery retailers nationwide and online at CafeBustelo.com. Each can features vibrant artwork created by local artists from each country, incorporating flora and fauna, national iconography, and culturally significant patterns. Inside the lid, a corresponding tattoo kit invites fans to complete their game-day look with temporary face tattoos inspired by the passionate face paint seen in Latin American stadiums.
Café Bustelo is all about celebrating Latin culture and the passions that make it so vibrant and exciting," said Emily Lucci, Brand Marketing Coffee Vice President. "In this spirit, the Game Face campaign honors countries that are synonymous with our brand through the inspiration of art and sports. We're proud to launch this campaign and give fans new ways to express their pride this summer."
The custom-engineered packaging transforms a traditional coffee can into an interactive fan experience. Each tattoo design draws creative elements that celebrate the unique culture, heritage, and symbolism of its country—from Argentina's iconic imagery to Brazil's vibrant visual language, Colombia's rich patterns, and Mexico's historic symbols.
Founded in 1928 in East Harlem by Spanish immigrant Gregorio Menéndez Bustelo, Café Bustelo has long been famous for its bright yellow-and-red vacuum-sealed cans and dark-roasted "espresso-style" coffee. Now owned by The J.M. Smucker Company, the brand continues to embrace its roots.
"In Latin culture, passion shows up loudest through sports," a brand representative noted. With Game Face, Café Bustelo is giving fans a new way to show up for what they love—coffee, country pride, and bold self-expression. The limited-edition cans will be available through July while supplies last.
