The global coffee sector will converge on the historic port city of Trieste on 16–17 October 2026 for the latest edition of the International Coffee Convention (ICC). Under the theme “Coffee at the Crossroads: Climate, Consumers and Circularity,” the event promises a compact, interdisciplinary forum designed to cut through the noise facing an industry under pressure.
A City Steeped in Coffee History
The choice of Trieste is far from incidental. Widely regarded as one of Europe’s most important coffee capitals, the city’s historic role as a gateway between Central Europe, the Mediterranean, and global trade routes makes it a symbolic venue. “Trieste is not merely a destination,” the convention notes. “It is part of the meaning of the event.”
Why Attend?
With climate instability, shifting consumer ethics, rapid technological disruption, and complex supply chains all converging, ICC 2026 is being positioned as a forum for clarity. The event aims to explore how climate adaptation, processing innovation, consumer trends, and regulation interact—rather than unfolding in isolation.
Attendees can expect an international program of presentations, insights for strategic decision-making, and direct access to peers and experts across the value chain. The organizers emphasize substance over spectacle: “Attend if you value evidence over noise.”
Who Should Attend?
The convention is designed for a broad cross-section of the coffee world, including producers, exporters, roasters, machine manufacturers, café operators, quality managers, sustainability stakeholders, and academic researchers. The compact, focused format is intended to foster natural networking and informed exchange, with interaction happening “before sessions, between talks, during breaks and in the wider convention setting.”
Practical Information
The event runs for two days in mid-October, offering what organizers call an “intensive, efficient and relevant” experience for anyone invested in the future of coffee.
