In a move blending iconic South American flavors with sporting passion, Colombia's renowned coffee brand, Juan Valdez, has brewed a significant new partnership. The brand announced today a landmark agreement with Argentine football powerhouse, Club Atlético River Plate. Effective immediately, Juan Valdez steps into the role of the official coffee provider for the Buenos Aires giants.

This multi-faceted partnership ensures that the rich aroma and taste of 100% Colombian coffee will become an integral part of the River Plate experience. From the vast stands of the legendary Estadio Mǎs Monumental to the club's bustling administrative offices and high-performance training facilities, and even extending to restaurants owned by the club, Juan Valdez will be the exclusive coffee served. Starting with matches from August 8th, 2025, players, professional staff, and the millions of visitors who pass through the Monumental each year will savor exclusively Colombian brews.

Germán Bahamón, General Manager of Colombia's National Federation of Coffee Growers (which owns Juan Valdez), hailed the agreement as a strategic milestone. "This is the union of the flavor of Colombian coffee with the passion inspired by Argentine football," Bahamón stated. "We want every visit to the Monumental to also be an opportunity to enjoy our product." He emphasized Argentina's importance as a key regional market where Juan Valdez has seen sustained growth, leveraging physical stores, supermarket presence, and targeted partnerships.

The River Plate deal is far from an isolated venture; it forms a crucial part of Juan Valdez's ambitious internationalization strategy. Following closely on the heels of becoming the official coffee supplier for the NFL's Los Angeles Rams earlier this year, this partnership exemplifies the brand's approach to expanding its global footprint. Juan Valdez aims to increase its presence in vital markets by aligning with prestigious institutions across sports, culture, and gastronomy.

An official statement from Juan Valdez outlined the broader vision: "With this agreement, Juan Valdez becomes an official sponsor of River Plate and advances its expansion plan in the country, where we will close 2025 with nine stores and project further growth in 2026." The initial sponsorship is set for one year, offering a platform for both brands to grow together.

Partnering with River Plate, one of South America's most decorated and globally recognized football clubs known for its massive fanbase and international ambitions, provides Juan Valdez with an unparalleled stage. As River Plate continues its surge on the global football scene, Juan Valdez aims to ride that wave, ensuring that the passion for fútbol in Argentina is increasingly accompanied by the distinct flavor of Colombian coffee.
