Known around the world as the “Original Starbucks,” the store at 1912 Pike Place welcomes visitors into a space where coffee heritage, human connection, and immersive storytelling take center stage.
First opened on March 30, 1971, by founders Gordon Bowker, Jerry Baldwin, and Zev Siegl, the Pike Place location is the birthplace of the Starbucks phenomenon. While often called the first Starbucks, the original café actually operated at 2000 Western Avenue for five years before moving to its current, now-iconic address. Today, it stands as one of three “Heritage Market” stores — a trio of locations within five blocks of one another that Starbucks has designated to showcase the company’s past, present, and future.
