Ceado, the esteemed Italian manufacturer of professional coffee equipment, has been announced as the Qualified Espresso Grinder Sponsor for the upcoming 2026–2027 World Barista Championship (WBC) cycle. This two-year partnership positions Ceado at the heart of the world’s most prestigious barista competition, providing the technological tools upon which champions will craft their performances.
The World Barista Championship is a cornerstone of the World Coffee Championships (WCC), a portfolio of seven annual events produced by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) that showcase peak performance in specialty coffee preparation. The WCC is hosted annually at SCA trade shows, featuring participation from over 50 Competition Bodies worldwide and attracting a global audience of coffee professionals and enthusiasts.
Throughout the competition season, competitors on the global stage will be supported by two of Ceado’s flagship grinders: the REV Zero and the E37Z-Naked. This strategic dual-grinder approach is born from a core belief that there is no single correct path to exceptional espresso extraction. Instead, Ceado aims to empower baristas with a choice, offering distinct technologies that minimize retention while providing greater control over extraction approach and ultimate aromatic expression. Both machines are engineered around unwavering principles of precision, reliability, and consistency, yet they offer different technical solutions to support diverse brewing philosophies and sensory goals.
Rev Zero
E37Z-Naked
The REV Zero is a professional on-demand grinder developed to eliminate retention between shots. Its innovative reverse grinding technology and modular architecture are designed for workflow efficiency and repeatable performance in high-pressure environments. It features 83 mm flat burrs made of K110 steel with a Red Speed coating, and is equipped with the patented Sweep-Out system, ensuring direct dosing with minimal waste and high consistency—a critical factor in competitive settings.
Complementing it is the E37Z-Naked, Ceado’s single-dose grinder built for maximum control and flexibility. Also featuring 83 mm flat burrs, now with a DLC coating, it utilizes a different grinding geometry developed specifically for nuanced flavor profiling and experimentation. Key technologies include the Steady Lock Grinder system to maintain perfect burr alignment and uniform granulometry, and the Quick Set Gear system for fast, precise grind size adjustments.
For Ceado, supporting the World Barista Championship is a natural extension of its company-wide philosophy of “Designing Flavor.” The company views coffee as an agricultural product that undergoes an extraordinary journey of work, expertise, and natural resources before reaching the grinder.
“The best way to honor that journey is to provide the highest-performing equipment and to educate on how to use it so that baristas can truly design, express and elevate the aromatic profile of this unique raw material,” stated Michele Girardi, CEO of Ceado. “We are proud to support the WBC with our REV Zero and E37Z-Naked grinders and to contribute to a community that celebrates precision craft and respect for coffee.”
Across the 2026–2027 competition cycle, these grinders will serve as standardized equipment, ensuring a baseline of consistency and fairness for all competitors while simultaneously highlighting the critical role of grinder technology in shaping flavor outcomes on the world’s most visible coffee stage.
Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Venice, Ceado leverages a solid industrial heritage and a commitment to engineering excellence to develop durable, precise, and user-focused solutions for the global coffee industry. Through this sponsorship, the company reinforces its long-term commitment to innovation and the continuous advancement of specialty coffee, providing tools designed not only to perform but to respect the profound value embedded in every coffee bean.
