Blue Bottle Coffee launches its membership program with innovative initiative designed to translate the company’s core values of care and hospitality into the digital realm, creating a more rewarding and deeply connected experience for its guests. The program is now live through the company's newly redesigned mobile app.
Moving beyond traditional transactional loyalty schemes, the membership is built on a foundation of generosity and shared experience. Members earn one point for every dollar spent, which can be redeemed in two meaningful ways: 150 points secures a free drink for themselves, while just 75 points allows a member to generously gift a free drink to a friend, encouraging connection and surprise.

The program’s benefits extend far beyond point redemption. Members will be treated to unexpected "Just Because" perks throughout the year, ranging from complimentary beverages to special discounts, requiring no points at all. To foster a sense of daily ritual and warmth, the app will deliver "Morning Notes"—bite-sized messages featuring coffee tips, brewing advice, and inspiring reflections. Looking ahead, the company also plans to offer exclusive access to early tastings, sneak-peek menu launches, and member-only offers.
Members can seamlessly earn and redeem rewards both through convenient mobile ordering and during in-cafe purchases by simply scanning their member barcode at the register. The program is supported by a smooth, intuitive in-app experience that includes order-ahead functionality, real-time reward tracking, and personalized offers tailored to each member's unique preferences.
This new digital experience is housed within a completely reimagined Blue Bottle Coffee mobile app, developed in partnership with the award-winning design and technology firm Work & Co, part of Accenture Song. The updated application captures the distinctive character and aesthetic of Blue Bottle's physical cafes through rich photography, a custom typeface, and a refined color palette anchored by the brand’s signature blue. Designed to be both warm and intuitive, the app simplifies ordering while reflecting the brand's obsessive focus on thoughtful, detail-driven experiences.
The Blue Bottle Coffee app, which provides access to the new membership program, is available for download on both iOS and Android devices through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
