The Lavazza Group announces a pivotal leap in coffee innovation with the launch of Tablì, an avant-garde system poised to transform the at-home coffee experience. Combining the world’s first 100% coffee tab with a sleek, purpose-built machine featuring a revolutionary delivery mechanism, Tablì marks a milestone not only for Lavazza but for the global coffee market. This breakthrough system reimagines convenience, quality, and sustainability, delivering an uncompromised sensory journey.
Antonio Baravalle, Lavazza Group CEO
Born from Lavazza’s strategic acquisition of Italian startup Caffèmotivo in 2020, Tablì represents years of dedicated R&D. Lavazza’s engineers perfected a proprietary technology to produce the 100% coffee tab at industrial scale, ensuring consistency and excellence in every serve. By eliminating the need for plastic or aluminum packaging typically used in single-serve formats, Tablì offers an eco-conscious solution without sacrificing quality. The result? A vibrant, aromatic espresso that captures the full spectrum of coffee’s color, aroma, and flavor—all through a biodegradable, waste-free tab.
The global single-serve coffee segment continues to thrive, with 2024 projections showing a 4% volume increase and 3% value growth. Consumers increasingly seek both convenience and sustainability—a demand Tablì addresses head-on. As circular economy principles drive innovation, Lavazza strengthens its at-home portfolio (beans, ground coffee, capsules, and pods) with this game-changing addition. Tablì’s compostable design aligns with Lavazza’s broader sustainability goals, offering a guilt-free indulgence for eco-aware coffee lovers.
Tablì will debut in style at Milan Design Week (April 6–13, 2025) through *Source of Pleasure*, an immersive installation crafted in collaboration with acclaimed Brazilian architect and designer Juliana Lima Vasconcellos. Situated in the historic courtyard of Palazzo del Senato (home to Milan’s State Archives), the exhibit will fuse coffee culture with cutting-edge design, inviting visitors to explore the intersection of technology, sustainability, and sensory delight.
With over 125 years of expertise, Lavazza Group remains a global leader in coffee innovation. From pioneering espresso culture to championing sustainable practices, the company continues to shape the future of coffee—one cup, and now one tab, at a time.
