Alliance for Coffee Excellence: Taiwan Private Collection Auction 2022

May 10 - 2022

Coffee Geography Magazine

This year, Taiwan Private Collection Auction is bigger and better. On behalf of the Taiwanese Council of Agriculture and the Taiwanese Agriculture and Food Agency, Taiwan Coffee Laboratory has begun working with Alliance for Coffee Excellence to create a series of three Private Collection Auctions in three consecutive years. 2022 is the first in the series and will place a heavy emphasis on the Taiwanese producers’ ability to improve and adapt. Those producers who submitted samples for last year’s PCA have worked tirelessly since the date of the auction to improve the qualities of their coffees, vowing to wow the world once again with the literal fruits of their labor.

The producers who did not participate last year are eager to present their coffees to the world, feeling confident that their carefully cultivated and processed lots will prove equal to last year’s winning lots - or better. With so many local coffee farms throwing their hat in the ring, significant increases in both quality and quantity are all but a certainty.

✔️The auction will be on June 30, 2022.

Coffee production is prominent in the Taiwanese regions of Alishan and Pingtung County's Taiwu Village. However, Yulin County remains the country's star coffee producer, with a climate and altitude similar to Jamaica's famed Blue Mountains.
