Chinese coffee giant Luckin Coffee has smashed through another major expansion milestone, with its global store network now exceeding 35,000 locations, the company announced.

The achievement comes just months after the chain celebrated its 30,000th store opening in February, underscoring an aggressive rollout strategy that shows no signs of slowing. Luckin’s rapid scaling across its domestic Chinese base and growing international footprint reinforces its position as one of the world’s largest coffee and beverage retail networks by store count.

The company’s expansion is built on a formula of high-density urban coverage, standardized store formats, and a tech-driven operating model designed for rapid deployment and high-throughput service. However, the February opening of a new “Origin Flagship” in Shenzhen signaled a potential shift beyond Luckin’s typical small-format, pickup-led outlets. The two-story site spans approximately 420 square meters, offering a larger, immersive retail experience.

Luckin’s growth is backed by solid financial performance, with the chain reporting another quarter of double-digit revenue growth as it continues to expand its footprint.

Beyond traditional coffee offerings, the company is seeing surging demand for non-coffee beverages. As of May 31, Luckin said cumulative sales of its non-coffee drinks had surpassed RMB 20 billion (approximately US$2.9 billion), with 22 individual products each exceeding 100 million cups sold. The figures highlight strong consumer appetite for the company’s expanding beverage portfolio.

To support its massive scale, Luckin has built an integrated supply chain and operational infrastructure designed for efficiency. This includes expanded global sourcing from key coffee origins such as Brazil, Ethiopia, and Indonesia, as well as domestic agricultural regions including Yunnan and Guangxi.

With 35,000 stores now in operation, Luckin Coffee continues to outpace rivals, cementing its dominance in the world’s fastest-growing major coffee market.
